LARGE CHROMATIC TAGS ON BLACK SCROLL

These scrolls are part of the greater series Chromatic Tags On Black. I tore the paper into longer strips and it was evident I had to turn these into scrolls. These pieces also have a touch of gold leaf.

Thank God for the Posca markers! This was one of the first times I really dove into using these markers on a bigger scale. The results speak for themselves! These pieces came out beautifully. I wanted the layered tags to almost look futuristic and illuminated, while demonstrating the essence of erosion and decay through graffiti. Each scrawl is a LA writers name from my past and present buried into the cluster of colors.

These are large hand painted scrolls on very thick card stock black sheets of archival paper, each one is unique piece of art.
